The Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University invites applications for the position of Director of Public Service Career Planning, The Director is expected to advise all students on matters relating to internships, fellowships, and careers in public service, including judicial clerkships. This position, which is part of the Law School's Office of Career Services, reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Career Services.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
â€¢Develops opportunities and educates students about employment in the public service â€¢Actively participates in the public service legal community â€¢Reviews resumes and cover letters of students applying for public service positions, including judicial clerkships â€¢Identifies information about public service employment opportunities for students and alumni â€¢Provides interview preparation â€¢Educates students on summer funding and post-graduate fellowships; preparation of resource materials and programs â€¢Works closely with related student organizations â€¢Develops and maintains close working relationships with public service employers and government entities.
This is a full-time on campus position. The position will require attendance at events on Long Island and in New York City as needed. Evening hours are occasionally required.
