The Tippie College of Business is looking to bring an HR Coordinator to the team. The individual in this role will provide human resource services to multiple departments within Tippie. Human resource services include but are not limited to: transaction processing, compliance monitoring, and record keeping.

Key Areas of Responsibility
HR Program Administration & Operations
Initiate, approve, and/or edit HR transactions in workflow (appts, change in status, special comp, leave, time record corrections/mgmt. etc.)
Explain routine operations/processes to staff
Respond to routine HR questions from employees or supervisors
Advise employees and managers on human resource regulations, practices, policies and procedures; make decisions and resolve issues within established guidelines or direct to the appropriate resource. Escalate the issue to upper management when appropriate
Support and communicate various HR initiatives as appropriate
Answer questions and assist end users in system access and functioning of HR applications such as Self Service, Performance Management system, Compliance & Qualifications system and OTAC
Talent Management & Engagement
Support recruitment activities, including conducting credential, criminal background and reference checks
Assist supervisors with recommending job classification and staffing strategy
Collaborate and participate as needed with search process and preparing offer letters
Compliance with Policies, Laws & Regulations
Review standardized reports; make recommendations and updates as necessary
Initiate and review HR compliance reports and collaborate with departments to resolve issues
Monitor compliance with University policies and employment regulation
Provide support and assistance with implementation of HR practices, policies and initiatives within multiple departments and units in Tippie College of Business
Assist with promoting, advocating and communicating changes within assigned units
Provide feedback and recommendations to HR Manager regarding HR operations and initiatives

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Basic knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting human resources
Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service for all employee populations
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Commitment to and ability to foster diversity, equity, and inclusion in the work or academic environment
Human Resources Certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) and/or commitment to the HR field through training and development
Prior experience in a higher education setting
