This is a full time position within the Academic Success Center. The purpose of the position is to provide support for the Vol Study Center within the Academic Success Center.
Duties/Responsibilities. The Vol Study Center Coordinator is called upon and expected to:
Maintain the physical and virtual space and resources (e.g., technology, content materials, pedagogical materials, etc.) of the Vol Study Spaces;
Coordinate group and individuals tutoring services for all academic terms;
Collaborate with academic departments and colleges, instructors, and various other members of the campus community to identify campus tutoring needs and areas for improvement;
Participate in continuing education and professional development activities in the areas of tutoring, study skills, learning strategies, innovative pedagogical techniques, and general academic support;
Promote services of the tutoring and supplemental instruction via campus partnerships and marketing campaigns;
Assist with management of tutoring /scheduling software for the Vol Study Center;
Assess the effectiveness of the Tutoring program, including conducting student surveys, usage and progress reports, and impact analyses perform other related duties as needed;
Assist with recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and management of all tutoring and Supplemental Instruction staff;
Conduct campus workshops regarding general academic support strategies (e.g., notetaking, reading strategies, study skills, study habits, etc.);
Conduct mentoring, supervision, and evaluation for all tutoring and Supplemental Instruction staff;
Maintain a flexible schedule that may include some scheduled evenings and weekends;
Other duties as assigned.
