We are seeking an Associate Director of Financial Aid to oversee major functional areas in Financial Aid and has systems management experience with a highly automated financial aid management system as well as a working knowledge of the overall operation of the Student Financial Aid office. The Associate Director assists the Director with administration of the Financial Aid Office, represent the office in administrative and public venues, and has a key role in decision and policy development.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Examples of Duties
Provide leadership and direction for the Financial Aid office especially in the absence of the Director of Financial Aid
Oversee the return and reporting of federal (Title IV) and state funds related to R2T4 processing
Manage and reconcile the Direct Loan Program. Requires exceptional detail work, including reviewing exception reports and updating information for federal reporting as well as timely reconciliation
Assists with the configuration and testing of the financial aid module of the student information system
Create, test plans of core financial aid processes in the financial aid module
Perform other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in related discipline preferred, Master's preferred
Three to five years of experience in financial aid required
Working knowledge of all State and Federal Financial Aid Programs
Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations
Strong technological aptitude and skills required. Experience working with a student information system to include set-up, testing, data queries, rules and maintenance; Ellucian colleague experience preferred. Computer literacy and ability to utilize an integrated students system (preferably Colleague), and department specific technology
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse levels of students and internal and external customers. Bilingual preferred
Valid driver's license and ability to travel
Must be willing and able to work evenings, overtime and/or at other locations as required
