The Media Relations manager is responsible for developing and implementing earned media opportunities for new initiatives tied to the university's Strategic Plan. This includes developing external messaging, media pitches and serving as a media liaison for project queries. The position also is responsible for serving as a media ambassador; proactively establishing and maintaining strong professional relationships with key media outlets in South Carolina and beyond and serving as a university spokesperson. The position also requires close collaboration with communicators from a variety of academic and administrative units across the UofSC Columbia campus and the UofSC system.
Advertised Minimum Qualifications :
Master's degree and 2 years professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years related experience.
