THIS IS A TIMELIMITEDPOSITIONWITH AN ESTIMATEDDURATION OF 1-3 YEARS.
This position in the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center is responsible for assisting the Business Office in the management and oversight of faculty grants and trust fund accounts. This position will primarily assist all the grants management accountants when there are vacancies due to retirement, extended FMLA leave and vacation as well as closing out pre-ConnectCarolina accounts that have not closed. This includes serving as contact person for questions/problems from management as well as lab personnel and reconciliation of monthly statements from accounting and generating reports for administrative manager and faculty.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to write precisely and clearly. Proven analytical and reasoning abilities, experience in evaluating complex requirements and regulations. Thorough knowledge of and skill in applying generally accepted accounting principles. Directly related experience with computerized financial reporting and analysis systems. Proficient with MS Office software including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Access. Ability to learn new procedures.
A general knowledge of University business policies and procedures. Prefer a well-organized individual who is flexible and has an ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure. Ability to manage deadlines effectively. Attention to detail, good judgment, and ability to communicate on many levels.
