THIS IS A TIME-LIMITEDPOSITION The Brain Slice Research Specialist will accelerate the translation of the brain slice platform in the following ways: enabling the translational studies of our team through brain slice generation; maturing the platform via optimization/standardization experiments, and specially directed or isolated experiments, and establishing and overseeing a robust organizational structure which will underpin all duties stated above.
40% Research and Data Analysis: Enabling the translational studies of our team by conducting experiments in the following research areas: a.Generating brain slices from live animals b.Cell culture studies and preparation of fresh patient tumors c.Data analysis: collecting, inputting, and analyzing data in our database, and maintaining its organization.
35% Conducting experiments: Maturing the platform via (a) optimization/standardization experiments and (b) specially directed or isolated experiments, using their broad knowledge of laboratory techniques and their ability to design, carry out, and analyze several different types of experiments.
20% Laboratory Management: Establishing and overseeing a robust organizational structure which will underpin all duties stated above. Duties will include monitoring and maintaining inventory, setting up and evaluating quality assurance/control standards, training and instructing new lab members, and setting the tone for an efficient and collaborative environment within the laboratory.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
This position will require the ability to perform assigned tasks accurately with attention to detail. A qualified candidate will be able to observe, monitor, and collect data using standard procedures. He or she will be able to assess the accuracy and quality of work and maintain clear and accurate records of experiments and procedures to support publications and grant applications. An enthusiastic posture toward learning, organization, and collaboration. Experience with various imaging techniques and Lab Management is preferred.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in: -Cell culture -In vivo mouse models -Ex vivo models -Various imaging techniques -Lab management
