The Community Leadership Center is seeking Program Coordinator (Family Worker), reporting to the Assistant Director. The Family Worker position develops and implements family support programs, including case management, home visits, and coordination of referrals and linkages. This position is responsible for development and delivery of training components for families, development of Family Plans and recording and monitoring data. The target population is families of children enrolled in the pre-school program of ELRA.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Must have a Bachelor of Social Work or a Bachelor of Science/Arts in a related field of study and a minimum of two years of experience in working with children and families in a field of social service.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
-Must be sensitive to and willing to work in addressing the needs of children and families of various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. -Must be able to use standard English grammar in writing and speaking. -Ability to communicate in Spanish verbally and in writing is desirable. -Required to accurately enter data into the computer and provide clearly written and accurate reports. -Valid driver's license and transportation. -Ability to work hours in a flexible way, including evenings and weekends to meet the needs of the service. -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. -Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. -Communicate accurate information and practical support to family members of all ages. -Ability to reflect on own practice; undertake training advice and constructive feedback.
-Knowledge and experience of direct work with families who have complex needs. -Understanding of Safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults. -Experience of working in culturally diverse communities. -Experience of working with people in their homes. -Ability to undertake the work within an anti-discriminatory and empowerment framework
An MSW would be preferred but not required.
Technology proficient, particularly in Microsoft Office
Salary: Starting salary will be commensurate with experience and within departmental budgets.
