This position is responsible for the overall execution of the Michigan Collaborative Addiction Resources and Education System (MI CARES) initiative. This initiative is aimed at building a highly trained and skilled addiction medicine workforce in the state of Michigan and beyond. In order to achieve the goals of this initiative; this position’s primary responsibility will be to develop an addiction medicine curriculum to be utilized by undergraduate medical students in Michigan medical schools. Offering addiction medicine curriculum in medical school can help boost students’ confidence in their ability to screen, manage and treat patients with substance use disorders. This also helps identify future leaders who can then serve as champions in their schools and communities, ushering in the next generation of highly qualified providers with expertise in Addiction Medicine.

Master's degree in related field
