Position Summary: This position serves as the Assistant to the Athletic Training programs. It is responsible for administrative support duties for the Athletic Training programs, serving approximately 6 faculty (as programs grow), 4 temporary instructors, 1 post doctoral fellow, 3 teaching assistants, and approximately 70 graduate students. Additional responsibilities include: coordinating and overseeing work flow in the department; maintaining and administering departmental policies and procedures; maintaining organization and scheduling of the office and outer office (e.g. copy room, lounge, other department-controlled spaces); managing 2 graduate programs; maintaining the class schedule through CLSS, assist with maintaining the AT programs's web pages; assisting with supervising work study and I.H. employees; and completing projects and tasks as assigned by the department chair and Athletic Training Faculty.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED Experience using computer software applications to compose a variety of business documents. Experience providing support functions such as filing, word processing, and reception. Experience researching, compiling, and summarizing data for reports. Experience interpreting, applying and explaining policies and procedures / rules and regulations. Experience independently solving problems/performing liaison activities in a work setting.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree OR equivalent combination of experience and/or education 3+ years work-related experience Experience working in a university setting Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge and skill in marketing, including the use of advanced technology in marketing and web editing. Experience working independently and functioning without direct supervision to complete tasks, and meet deadlines. Experience prioritizing, coordinating, and managing multiple tasks, duties, and projects requiring complex arrangements for successful completion. Experience in coordinating student workers. Knowledge of University of Idaho departments, programs, services and programs in the Department of Movement Sciences. Experience and skill with CourseLeaf Schedule System, Banner Student module, and/or Vandal Web system.
