This position carries out financial duties and functions as assigned by the Business officer. The person in this position will monitor departmental purchases and expenses. They will prepare expense reports per supervisor's instruction and must be able to utilize reporting software and programs such as MS Excel to prepare the reports.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge of general technical accounting, including the maintenance and reporting of financial accounting data. Ability to remain current in developments and trends in the areas of AR/AP as associated with a recharge type operation in the University environment. Ability to observe, monitor, collect, and record fiscal data. Ability to assess the accuracy, validity, and integrity of data. Ability to manage resources, monitor activities, and assess risks and quality control associated with IT operations. Ability to prepare documents and create bills, statements, and other financial reports. Ability to identify problems, determines possible solutions, and actively work to resolve issues. Ability to communicate information to individuals or groups and clearly and concisely convey information orally and in writing.
Prefer candidates with previous experience at state-supported higher education institution.
