Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Education and Training department within Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available to join the Cancer Metabolism and Growth and Tumor Host Interactions Team at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. The Postdoctoral Fellow will conduct research on cancer metabolism and growth and tumor host interactions and its role in immune regulation. The position provides opportunities to study within multidisciplinary groups and to be involved in clinical/translational research collaborations. Postdoctoral Fellows are expected to establish an innovative, collaborative research program addressing important and fundamental questions of cancer biology. Interdisciplinary and translational approaches are encouraged. Qualified candidates must be in the process of completing training for Ph.D. and/or M.D. graduate degrees with a strong publication record and looking to move to the next stage of their training.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Conducts multidisciplinary research in the area of Cancer Metabolism and Growth and Tumor Host Interactions and its role in immune regulation.
Prepares written reports of the research experiments.
Prepares grant proposals based on the research conducted.
Gives oral presentations of the research.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and Rutgers regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High achieving post-doctoral fellows (evidenced by research productivity in the form of number and quality of publications, fellowship awards, presentations etc.).
Commitment to a two year rigorous training program
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Evidence of interest in translational research in Cancer Metabolism and Tumor-host interactions.
High levels of communication and organizational skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Standing, sitting, walking, talking and hearing. No special vision requirements
Lab environment. Moderate noise. Exposure to blood, excrement, antineoplastic drugs and possible exposure to infectious and communicable diseases. Universal precautions are mandatory. Exposure to hazardous chemicals
