Chief of Advanced Heart Failure and Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Heart Transplant (Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center):
The Cardiology Division of the University of California, San Francisco is seeking an advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology board certified or eligible faculty candidate for its growing program to be the Chief of the Advanced Heart Failure Section and the Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Comprehensive Care Center. The candidate must have formal training and experience in endomyocardial biopsy and the inpatient and outpatient care of advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support device. Applicants should also have a robust research program and national presence in heart failure and/or heart transplant. Interest and expertise in other subspecialty areas of cardiology and/or a research background are highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience building and leading programs, or the potential to lead programs. The successful candidate will work closely with the Cardiology Division Chief, other Division, Departmental and Health system leaders as well as the Surgical Director of Transplant/MCS in developing and executing strategies for continued growth of the heart failure, heart transplant and mechanical circulatory support programs. The candidate will be an outstanding clinician who is a nationally recognized or upcoming clinical and academic leader in cardiology and heart failure. Applicants must hold MD (or equivalent degree), MD/PhD (or equivalent degree), or MD/MPH (or equivalent degree) degree(s), be board certified or eligible in an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology, and be qualified for appointment at the Associate or the Professor level.
