This position will provide support across all the swim lanes associated with the efforts to establish the University-only Directory Services. The Associate Project Manager will facilitate requirement meetings, conduct internal and external analysis, manage resources and schedules, and maintain system processes and procedures. Coordinates the activities of the team by understanding the project scope and objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member.
IT Strategy, Enterprise Consulting, & Project Management provides oversight of the VUIT and VUMC IT implementation of several major transition projects running simultaneously required because of the university-medical center split. The TMO works, to reduce risk and successfully finish each project, the TMO pursues comprehensive program management to accomplish the following:
Guide project planning and be the central node for project approval, funding, and milestone decisions
Manage project dependencies
Identify and mitigate resource constraints
Elevate project risks and conflicts for resolution through structured governance
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Associate Project Manager will possess effective communication skills, and demonstrated flexibility as well as:
Elicits, analyzes, validates and documents business, organizational and/or operational requirements
Ensure timely completion of tasks in line with project objectives
Convey technical information in a manner that is easily understood both verbally and written
Under the direction of the team lead, delivers on objectives with understanding of the impact to own area/team and other related teams
Utilizes multiple sources of data to analyze and resolve problems; may take a new perspective on existing solution
Facilitation of requirement sessions
Supports efforts to manage requests, timelines and schedules effectively
Be a self-initiator with the ability to multi task and appropriately prioritize work
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills
Work and thrive in a fast-paced collaborative and diverse environment
Identify and anticipate potential resource needs, dependencies and prioritization conflicts
Bachelor's degree necessary
2-3 years relevant work experience necessary
