Summary of Duties:
Under the direction of the Associate Athletic Director of Compliance, this position will assist in the leadership and day-to-day oversight of the Compliance Office. Specifically, the Assistant Athletic Director will run the day-to-day compliance operations of the football program and one or more assigned sport programs including, but not limited to: monitoring each bylaw (11-17); researching and preparing interpretations and waivers; scheduling and presenting rules education; conducting investigations of potential violations; and monitoring and evaluation of incoming freshmen and prospective transfer academic eligibility as well as financial aid receipt. The position will serve as a bylaw lead for one or more assigned bylaws. In this role, the Assistant Athletic Director will be the subject matter expert providing the Compliance Office with monitoring, educational, and interpretive support. The position will be the assigned liaison for one or more campus/athletics support units. In this role, the Assistant Athletic Director will provide ongoing interpretive and educational support while establishing and growing relationships with campus partners. The position will provide oversight and leadership for the student employment program (e.g., internships, practicum students, and hourly workers).
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. Experience leading or directing the work of others. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a yearforyear basis.
Strong computer background with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and mainframe applications.
Exceptional communication skills and an emphasis on relationship-building.
The three years of professional work experience should include work in NCAA Compliance.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations with a specific background in a compliance environment.
Master's degree in relevant field, or Law degree
Four (4) total years of professional compliance experience.
Experience leading or directing the work of others.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft and ARMS software.
