Wytheville Community College is looking to hire a Financial Services Specialist I for the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Office is responsible for the equitable and timely distribution of grants, loans, scholarship and Federal Work Study funds to students with established financial need. Core responsibilities of this position will be to verify selected student information; provide information to students, parents and campus community; oversee Federal Work Study program. This position will verify selected files; review submitted documentation to ensure compliance with DOE verification guidelines; use Automation Engine (AE) process to list items in the To Do List needed for verification process; and assist with student financial aid appeal process. The position will also run AE processes on a regular basis and import ISIRs daily from DOE through EdConnect software; load imported ISIRs into SIS, review suspended ISIRs, and build FA Terms on loaded ISIRs. Submit necessary ISIR corrections from SIS to EdConnect and import corrected ISIRs after corrected ISIR is processed. The position will provide financial aid information and requirements to students, parents and college community to ensure most accurate information is available and will manage a financial literacy platform/chatbot/texting platform daily to ensure that students/prospective students are receiving the correct information and update KB articles as necessary.
History of providing Excellent Customer Service; Associates degree required in a business related field or experience equal to an Associate's degree; Knowledge of compliance and reporting procedures; Experience working with technology, and Microsoft office and SIS
