The Department of Biology at Tufts University is seeking a part-time instructor to teach an intermediate level ecology course (Bio 142 – Population and Community Ecology) for Fall 2021. The course is designed for Biology majors and also attracts students interested in the environmental sciences. Topics covered include population dynamics (population structure and growth), species interactions (predator-prey, competition, mutualism), and community structure (adaptations to the physical environment, patterns and processes governing the world's biomes). The course typically enrolls about 30 students and is planned to meet in person Wednesdays and Fridays 10:30AM – 11:45AM. Virtual accommodation of students who are unable to attend in-person sessions may be necessary.
The preferred candidate should have attained a PhD in an area related to ecology. Candidates should demonstrate experience in teaching ecology to biology majors.
