The position is in the Diagnostic Laboratory Services (DLS) section within the Department of Pathobiology and Population Medicine. Responsibilities include teaching in the professional and residency/graduate program and participation in the pathology service. It is expected that this position will allocate approximately 70% time to diagnostic service activities, 25% time to teaching, and 5% to other service. The diagnostic service will feature predominately support for the marine mammal program at MSU. The ideal candidate will have an established interest for diagnostics and teaching in marine mammals.
This position is funded by extramural funds and is subject to the availability of funding. Initial offer is for one year.
Minimum qualifications include a DVM with completion of a residency Anatomic Pathology. Collegiality and excellent communication skills are required. The ability to attain licensure (faculty or traditional licensure) in Mississippi is required. The successful candidate will work directly with pathology faculty in DLS. The DLS is a part of the AAVLD fully accredited Mississippi Veterinary Research and Diagnostic Laboratory System, which has diagnostic laboratories located at three sites.
