JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, the Research Assistant will assist in specimen collection, lab process, and other laboratory procedures defined in the clinical research protocols. Duties include collecting blood and urine specimens per protocol requirements.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collects biological specimens (e.g., urine, blood, etc.) according to established procedures.
Interacts with patients in clear, professional, and courteous manner to explain and perform the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine) as required.
Processes the specimens collected and completes requisitions accurately.
Schedules patients appointments and follow-up appointments for office visits.
Maintains and documents data collected for research protocol
Prepares specimens for shipment and ships as required per protocol.
Participates in training and certification procedures for packing and shipping dangerous goods.
Participates in training of Good Clinical Practice.
Tracks and organize study supplies.
Performs other related duties as assigned
