*This position is full-time, 40hpw/52wpy, non-exempt, and 7:00am-3:30pm with rotating weekends.*
JOB SUMMARY: The objective of the Marketplace Staff position is to prepare and serve meals in the Marketplace cafeteria and to prepare or assist preparation of meals for catered events under the direction of the Kitchen Lead and the Executive Chef. This position will serve the Pizza/Pasta area of the Marketplace.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet each customer.
Take customer order and prepare food items as specified.
Train and supervise student employees.
Monitor food supplies and prepare orders for future service periods.
Provide valuable customer feedback to Kitchen Lead, Executive Chef, and Dining Service Supervisors.
Maintain neat, clean, professional appearance and pleasant demeanor for customers.
Demonstrates commitment to overall consistency and quality following established preparation schedules and recipes.
Demonstrate technical production skills which at times includes the use of appropriate math, reading, writing, and oral communication skills.
Ability to organize workloads and flexibility in altering personal work schedule to meet work goals designated by work supervisors.
Demonstrate problem solving ability while collecting work related information and makes recommendations and adjustments for successful task completion.
Demonstrate commitment to customer satisfaction by providing high quality products and services and appropriate communications. These positions include intensive customer interaction in the Marketplace Servery.
Ability to work in a team setting. This includes effective communication with other staff members, student employees, and supervisors and the ability to try new methods and accept suggestion/direction for changes of procedure.
Adhere to recipe standards and directions by kitchen lead and Executive Chef.
Adhere to quality and food safety standards as established by the Trainer and Certified Food Managers of the College.
Maintain sanitary work area and completes cleaning assignments as directed. Performs other duties as assigned in support of the goals of the other Dining Service departments to ensure unified customer service and product quality. Presents professional appearance and personal hygiene and wears appropriated work uniform /attire as designated by Associate Vice President of Auxiliary Services.
Provide work direction and leadership and is responsible for the work performance of student employees.
