Warren Wilson College is seeking a detail oriented, tech savvy financial aid professional with the right aptitude, education, and experience to serve as a leader in the Senior Associate Director of Financial Aid role. The individual in this position will provide essential support to the Director of Financial Aid as a part of the leadership team for the department. This includes administrative oversight of financial aid records and participation in all aspects pertaining to the operation and success of the Financial Aid Office. The position, in collaboration with the Director of Financial Aid, administers and manages federal, state, and institutional program funds with current policy and regulatory changes, making key workload decisions in completing reports, and data requests for reporting entities.
Ideal candidates will have multiple years of experience working in a financial aid office with extensive use of PowerFAIDS, and possess the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, and deliver the highest level of customer service. Competitive candidates will be able to perform reconciliations with ease and have working knowledge of standard reports and processes for a financial aid office, in addition to taking a proactive, strategic approach to managing multiple priorities and projects. The ability to work accurately and calmly under pressure, with high attention to detail is essential in this role.

Perform needs analysis and package financial aid.
Counsel students and parents about financial aid, answer complex questions, and resolve problems.
Ensure timely and accurate administration of federal, state, and institutional funding.
Provide necessary training to staff and work crew in customer service and regulations/policies/procedures relevant to financial aid.
Assist with the verification process including reprocessing ISIRs.
Responsible for the submission of state reporting requirements.
Create presentations for on-campus meetings, local organizations, and high schools.
Run SAP and monitor SAP appeals.
Maintain withdrawal records and manage the process of R2T4.
Manage the process to assist the Student Accounts Office in disbursement of aid.
Perform monthly and/or weekly reconciliations of various federal, state, and institutional funds.
Conduct necessary closeout processes of the academic year upon completion of the yearly audit.
Participate in campus committees and campus department support.
Technical liaison between the Financial Aid Office and IT department.
Certify North Carolina state aid.
Certify and reconcile Private Loans.
Maintain a database of endowed and annual scholarship funds for awarding and reconciliation.
Maintain and organize financial aid data files.
Serve as back-up for the Financial Aid Office front desk.
Participate in off-campus professional training and events as approved and advised.
In the absence of the Director of Financial Aid, may represent the Financial Aid Office as requested.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
Three years of experience working in a financial aid office.
Extensive knowledge of the following financial aid systems/programs: ED Connect, COD, NSLDS, NC RDS, CFNC, ELM, FSA Partner Connect
Demonstrated customer service background.
Evidence of excellent written/verbal communication including public speaking, organizational, and computer skills.
Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively and diplomatically with students, parents, and the public.
Demonstrated experience with and evidence of working with diverse student populations.
Three years experience with PowerFAIDS.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and a working knowledge of Google Suite.
Master's degree in Business, Finance, or related field.
Five years of experience working in a financial aid office.
Extensive knowledge of federal and North Carolina state guidelines and regulations for financial aid.
Four or more years experience with PowerFAIDS.
One to three years of experience with Jenzabar EX.
