Candidates should be highly motivated, self-directed individuals with a record of past success in (or have significant potential for) the preparation of highly effective teachers for K-12 classrooms. Prior successful teaching at the post-secondary level and supervision/mentoring experience is desired.
Candidates are preferred to have at least four years of successful K-12 teaching experience. Candidates should also have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and supervising pre-service professionals in order to sustain and improve a teacher education program with a strong commitment to preparing teacher candidates who are engaged to learn, equipped to teach, and empowered to lead.
Duties: This position includes a teaching load of 15 credits per semester to align with the candidate’s expertise areas.
Successful candidates should be committed to excellence and innovation in undergraduate teaching, active engagement in scholarly activities, and working closely with traditional and non-traditional students in a small college environment with a commitment to student success. Opportunities to teach graduate courses in the Master in Education program and courses in the general Liberal Arts Core Curriculum are available.

Minimum Qualifications: Masters of Education required with elementary expertise. Preferred specialty in Reading / Literacy. May also consider expertise in other areas such as: ELL, Special Education, Driver Education, PE, or Math.
Desired/Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in best practices in a range of theoretical perspectives including structured literacy and the capacity to support students with dyslexia. Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred.
