The Director of Financial aid administers a comprehensive financial aid program at the Henniker campus and any off-site locations/campuses supporting the recruitment and retention goals of the College. This position ensures compliance with federal and state regulations as well as school policies and procedures.
• Manages financial aid operations in a timely and efficient manner; overseeing packaging, verification, return to title IV procedures, appeals, disbursements, originations, reconciliations, annual close outs, and other financial aid tasks; • Coordinates financial aid systems and software required to manage and administer financial aid; • Adheres to all compliance requirements, including meeting deadlines and complying with federal regulations; performs internal audits; monitors internal controls; • Provides excellent, responsive customer service to all constituents (students, parents, staff, etc.); • Constructs and analyzes reports extracting data from Banner using the Argos reporting tool and other systems; • Completes required reporting such as the FISAP, IPEDS and weekly operational reports to meet deadlines established by the AVP of Student Financial Services and/or the regulatory agency; • Manages the Federal Work study program; • Assists with the annual federal aid compliance audit by providing requested information, manages review of student files, and answers questions during and after the audit by the auditors, AVPSFS, or AVP Finance; • Reviews and recommends policies and procedures to increase efficiency and ensure compliance.
• 5 years of progressive experience in financial aid administration; • 3-5 years of supervisory experience; • Experience using Banner, Argos or similar software; • Excellent leadership skills; • Strong commitment to customer service; • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and procedures; • Ability to manage data and systems; • Must be detail-orientated, flexible, adaptable, and organized; • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
