The Center of Alcohol & Substance Use Studies Addiction Education Department seeks dynamic Part-Time Lecturers (PTLs) to teach in the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counseling Certificate Program (ADACC) in the Department of Applied Psychology during the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 academic year for the Fall (September through December), Spring (January through May) and Summer (May through August) semesters.
Successful applicant(s) will instruct undergraduate courses in introduction of drug & alcohol use disorder, how drugs impact brain functioning, drug & alcohol use disorders assessment and diagnosis, case management & community resources, evidence-based treatment, and ethics.
Courses will be offered in a hybrid format (on-line & 4 in-person classes)
Instructors are expected to adhere to program syllabi, present high quality lectures, facilitate class discussions and other teaching activities, respond to student emails and submit grades as per contract. PTL's are expected to adhere to high quality instructional practices that integrate multiple modalities and approaches, such as whole class lecture, small group activities, videos, role playing etc.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Persons interested in this position(s) must have an Advanced degree (Master level) and minimum of 2 years of experience in the subject area. Additionally, persons must be licensed professionals (LSW, LCSW, LPC, Psychologist, etc.).
