The Womenâs and Gender Studies Program in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Iowa State University is seeking a qualified candidate for a Lecturer in the following areas: introduction to womenâs and gender studies, contemporary queer studies, intersectional feminism, and/or popular culture. The candidate will deliver instruction in both face-to-face and online formats.
This position will participate in shaping the program through curriculum development, student advising, and outreach initiatives. This appointment includes a one-year contract with potential of renewal, teaching a 2-3 course load.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
MA in Womenâs and Gender Studies or a related discipline
Minimum of 2 years teaching experience
Ph.D. in Womenâs and Gender Studies or a related field
Demonstrated teaching in both online and face-to-face format in higher education
Strong academic and teaching background in one or more of the following areas: introduction to womenâs and gender studies; intersectional feminism; contemporary queer studies; and popular culture
Evidence of ability to work with diverse student, faculty, and staff populations

The curriculum includes three areas of emphasis: 1) Communication and Cultural Representation, 2) Identities and Sexualities, and 3) Leadership and Social Justice.
