The Oshimori labs interests lie in the field of intratumor heterogeneity, tumor-initiating cells, and the tumor microenvironment with a focus on cellular crosstalk and molecular pathways that drive malignant progression and treatment resistance.
The Research Assistant supports studies of understanding mechanisms of cancer progression using mouse models of squamous cell carcinoma and human cancer tissues. The Research Assistant will work closely with the Principal Investigator and his team to prepare research reagents, process cell and tissue samples, maintain mouse colonies, and collect experimental data.
Work is generally 40 hours per week during normal working hours, however, some evening and weekend work will be necessary on occasion. Additional safety training will be required to work with cell lines/ infectious bacteria or viruses/ working with in a BSL-2 environment. Working with laboratory animals is required.
