Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Clinical Service Representative I – Registration for the Patient Business Services department at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The primary purpose of the Clinic Service Representative I-Registration is to perform a variety of simple and complex registration activities at the Eric. B. Chandler Health Center and its affiliate sites under limited supervision.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Keeps patients waiting to be seen apprised (20 minutes intervals) of any inordinate delays in being seen.
Records time and date of appointment in the Practice Management System/Electronic Medical Record.
Responsible for placing reminder calls to the patient(s) one week prior, and one day prior to scheduled visit.
Advises Assistant Manager, Patient Business Services when unable to schedule patient appointments; when unable to utilize telephone system; when Practice Management System/Electronic Medical Record is malfunctioning.
Participates in voluntary or assigned customer service programs.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in physician, hospital or health center billing setting, including management of various types of insurance billing processes.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Familiar with the billing practices of Medicaid and Medicare.
Proofread and check documents for accuracy.
Experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center.
Requires working with office equipment and confidential patient records and correspondence.
Evening and weekend rotations.
