Bluegrass Community and Technical College (BCTC) is seeking qualified faculty for a full-time, tenure-track position in Biology. BCTC seeks faculty who value the academic success of their students and who love to teach. Primary teaching responsibility will be teaching both majors and non-majors biology courses and associated labs but may also include other classes taught within the biology and biotech areas depending upon the successful candidate's qualifications. Previous experience teaching at the college level preferred. This position requires flexibility of scheduling which may include evenings and weekends on a variety of campuses and online teaching. This position is a 10-month faculty position working from August to May each academic year.
Teach transferable, non-majors/majors biology and anatomy and physiology lectures and laboratories.
Set up lab exams.
Develop syllabi, course materials, exams, etc.
Use computer technology in lecture and laboratory instruction to enhance student learning.
Work closely with biology faculty.
Assist part-time instructors and substitutes for absent instructors as needed.
Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:
Master's in Biology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in biology or related disciplines.
**Applicants selected for an interview will be required to give a short (approximately 15 minutes) teaching demonstration on the topic to be determined prior to the interview.
