Custodian (Full-time, Saturday-Wednesday, 5am-1pm) Building Services
Description Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for two full-time, non-exempt Custodian positions. This position is predominantly Saturday-Wednesday, 5:00am-1:00pm, with shift variations as determind by the needs of the department.

A custodian has the primary function of providing Janitorial services at the academic, administrative, athletics, auxiliary, dormitory, and religious buildings of the College. A Custodian works under the supervision of a Building Services Supervisor.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs regular and thorough cleaning of various buildings and space types. Sweeps, mops, scrubs, strips, waxes, and polishes floor surfaces; cleans and shampoos carpets; operates various cleaning machines.
Cleans and dusts furniture and fixtures; shampoos upholstered furniture; washes walls; cleans glass and mirrors; removes and hangs drapes. Empties and cleans trash receptacles and recycling bins.
Scrubs, cleans, and sanitizes restrooms, shower facilities, and food service areas.
Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; Set up rooms for functions and events.
Launder bed linens, towels, wash cloths, mop heads, rags, and custodial equipment.
Maintains a clean and orderly supply closet; monitors supply levels and reports supply needs.
Performs room service duties for College guests; make beds, replace towels, etc.
Removes snow and ice from walkways; picks up debris in area surrounding buildings.
May train and direct student employees; may participate in training new employees.
All other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites Minimum Qualifications:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours per day.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills.
