Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: Teach one (1) class (3-units) in the third summer session: Math Literacy for College. The course will take place over four weeks, July 19-Aug 13, 2021.
Essential Functions: 1. Provide in-person instruction on campus for a developmental math course in a way that will build community and introduce students to University of the Pacific. This includes but is not limited to: course preparation, syllabus development, daily instruction, creating and grading various assignments such as quizzes and tests, and submitting final grades in a timely fashion.
2. Hold office hours or otherwise be available to students for additional help outside of classroom hours during set times each week.
All faculty members collaborate in fulfilling the University's mission to provide a superior, student-centered learning experience integrating liberal arts and professional education and preparing individuals for lasting achievement and responsible leadership in their careers and communities.
This faculty member shall function under the Director of General Education and the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education and be subject to the policies of the University.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters or doctoral degree in mathematics or a related field, or a single-subject teaching credential for mathematics, and potential for excellent teaching.
The rank of Instructor is not a tenure eligible appointment.
Preferred Qualifications: At least two (2) years of mathematics teaching experience at the high school, community college, or four-year college level.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel: 9:30-11:25am MTWRF in class, plus office hours TBD.
