Lecturer Pool-Department of Comparative Literature
The Department of Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley, seeks applications for a pool of non-tenure-track lecturers. Applicants will be selected from this pool for one calendar year; those interested in remaining in the pool beyond the final date must reapply. The number of positions varies from semester to semester and summer, depending upon the needs of the department.
Teaching Responsibilities: We are seeking outstanding lecturers who can teach/co-teach small or medium sized courses in the following areas:
General Duties: In addition to teaching responsibilities, general duties include holding office hours, assigning grades, advising students, preparing course materials (e.g., syllabus), and maintaining a course website.
For those who are not US citizens or permanent residents, a legal permit that allows work in the United States (such as a US visa that allows employment) is required by the position's start date. The Department is unable to provide a visa/work permit.
