Through the Chief Investment Officer, the Investment Office Staff is responsible for managing the universityâs Endowment Fund (Endowment) in accordance with the Board of Directorâs Investment Committee's Policies. USCâs Endowment exists to support the academic mission of the University for current and future students.
While the management of the Endowment is the primary responsibility of the Investment Office, it is also involved in the management of the universityâs defined benefit pension plan and charitable trust programs.
The Investment Operations Analyst position offers the opportunity to be an important part of an experienced and thoughtful investment team directly involved in the management of a diverse investment portfolio.
The Investment Operations Analyst will help support the Investment Office functions and processes, including but not limited to, performance measurements, analysis, reporting and account reconciliation. This role requires the ability to work as part of a team accurately gathering and analyzing data to deliver high-quality reports.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Assisting with performance calculations and reporting
Maintaining database and document management
Assisting with monthly account reconciliation with university custodian and Office of the Comptroller
Monitoring daily cash flow transactions including capital calls, distributions, subscriptions, and redemptions
Assisting with the preparation of quarterly Investment Committee meeting materials
New investment implementation including account opening and database updates
Providing support and gathering data for annual university financial audit
Assisting with the production of Ad-Hoc projects and reports
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and controls
Bachelorâs degree in areas of accounting, finance, economics, or business administration; Combined experience/education as a substitute for education
Three years of work experience. Relevant experience working in accounting or investment management operations preferred.
Being proactive with an extreme attention to detail and a commitment to delivering quality reports
Advanced ability in Microsoft Excel, including pivot table, vlookup, and filter. Knowledge of investment software and information systems helpful
Excellent oral and written communication skills
The ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and work independently as well as within a group
Bachelorâs degree in areas of accounting, finance, economics, or business administration; Combined experience/education as a substitute for educationThree years of work experience.
