FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATOR , Open Learning , to oversee and report on the financial performance of several business units and manage a varied portfolio of sponsored awards. Responsibilities include supporting the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts; acting as a resource on transactional inquires and financial/budgetary questions; working closely with the financial operations team to ensure support for day-to-day financial operations and internal controls; assisting with pre-award activities; communicate financial reporting to PIs and project leads; strategizing with business unit leads and PIs on resource allocation, effort/salary allocations across projects, and coordinating payroll changes; processing budget revisions, no-cost extensions, and amendments; assisting PIs with financial reporting requirements to various funding organizations; interpreting award terms and conditions and providing guidance on systems, policies and procedures, and compliance; ensuring financial compliance with university policies/procedures and applicable legal rules/regulations; and handling related duties and/or special projects as assigned.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in related field, preferably finance, accounting, or business administration; at least five years' accounting/finance experience, preferably including experience with federal contracts and financial administration in an academic research environment; knowledge of federal guidelines; strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, time-management, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills; attention to detail; discretion with confidential information; flexibility; and strong data management and Excel skills, including querying and pivot tables and extensive formulaic knowledge. Must be able to prioritize and manage numerous projects with varying degrees of complexity; identify and recommend solutions to complex problems; work as part of a team; and operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
