The Office of Development (OOD) advances Stanford's mission by raising philanthropic support from alumni, parents, families, friends, and institutional funders. Working in concert with volunteers and academic leaders, OOD staff members strive to accelerate Stanford's purposeful impact in the world. Every member of the Office of Development staff plays a role in providing the university's donors with the service and attention that ensures an exceptionally positive and fulfilling philanthropic experience.
Under direct supervision, the Development Coordinator (DC) will provide administrative and routine support to fundraising programs and activities. The DC will work with front-line fundraising staff, donors, volunteers, and other university staff to assist in establishing and maintaining relationships with all university constituencies.
Provide project and administrative support, and respond to a wide variety of questions.
Pull relevant reports and data for donor population; perform Excel functions (SUM, SUMIF, VLOOKUP, COUNTIF, IF) to synthesize data; create charts and graphs in Excel.
Assist in the design, publication and production of fundraising materials.
Build a network of relevant contacts, and stay informed on current university initiatives and activities.
Prepare gift transmittals and troubleshoot gift and payment issues, to ensure accurate recording.
Assist in the planning and implementation of events and donor cultivation, as needed.
Retrieve information about prospects and donors, update records, and generate simple reports using the university external relations database.
Process reimbursements for annual giving officers.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree and one year relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability with Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of database systems, such as Microsoft Access.
Ability to work efficiently, juggle tasks simultaneously, meet deadlines, and achieve goals.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Outstanding communication skills and exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
Exercise discretion in working with highly confidential and sensitive information.
Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks, sit, and use a telephone, stand/walk.
Occasionally light/fine grasping, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds, writing by hand.
Ability to obtain and maintain a California Non-commercial Class license.
