This position is in the Department of Neurology. The position is located at McMillan Hospital. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Assists program directors in the management and organization of the fellowship programs within the Sections of Neuromuscle and Vascular Neurology. Coordinates educational activities of the program for incoming and current fellows. Coordinates interview itineraries for fellowship. Assures program compliance with regulatory agency standards and maintains essential documentation required for program viability. Functions as a liaison between fellows, departments, attending physicians, administration and outside institutions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews applications of fellowship program applicants, schedules and coordinates yearly interviews for selection of new fellows, establishes files of completed applications and related materials, corresponds with candidates and those who are accepted into the program. Arranges schedules, evaluations, tours and social events for selected applicants.
Coordinates fellows’ schedules, rotation, vacation, call and conference schedules. Arranges for certificates of program completion. Documents fellows’ attendance and absence excuses.
Reviews ACGME “General and Special Requirements for Fellowship Training” and evaluates program to assess compliance. Maintains all records and documentation required by the ACGME. Supervises the collection of data fulfilling requirements of ACGME and other licensing and credentialing boards. Prepares reports and compiles statistics.
Compiles faculty and fellow evaluations. Responsible for maintaining all fellowship trainee files.
Participates in preparation of budget as it relates to fellowship program.
Provides additional back up as needed for department onboarding specialist/senior residency coordinator, fellowship coordinator as well as Chair's office.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working experience.
Minimum of two years’ experience working with residency or fellowship training programs or in a related field.
Relevant administrative experience along with a strong skill set in tools such as the Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.
High level of management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to function independently, use discretion and attend to detail.
Proficiency in problem solving.
Computer literacy to include word processing, spreadsheet (Excel) presentation skills (PowerPoint) and database management.
The hiring range for this position is $19.18 - $24.47 per hour.
