About the Department:
To build global awareness at Mason and in the local community, the Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS) develops and implements programs to integrate international students, researchers, and faculty into the campus and the community. The office provides guidance to students and scholars studying and working at George Mason University in immigration, employment and taxation, assisting with adjustment issues, and fostering cross-cultural understanding through programs highlighting global themes. OIPS also collaborates in policy development on matters related to immigration, international tax, cross-cultural communication, or international educational exchange.
Review and respond to emails from prospective students;
Review and upload documents to a database;
Other general support functions associated with the issuance of visa documents to prospective students.
Technical skills with software such as MS Office, Banner, Salesforce;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-native speakers of English;
Strong organizational skills;
The ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines;
The ability to maintain the confidentiality of information and student records.
Salary: $14 per hour
