Under direct general supervision of the SDIP Evaluation Manager, acquires skills and knowledge of professional concepts in research data analysis. Works on small projects or segments of projects with limited scope and complexity for San Diego Immunization Partnership (SDIP). SDIP is a comprehensive and county-wide program which seeks to reduce the vaccine preventable diseases by increasing coverage rates among all San Diego County residents. The program is a contract of and is co-located with the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Epidemiology and Immunization Services Branch.
The incumbent collects, postcodes, and analyzes data; performs quality assurance study, conducts, monitors and managers surveys, acts as back-up onsite technical supports to the surveyors, works very close with the study investigators to assist in designing and modifying study instruments; uses the established policies and procedures to perform routine statistical analysis, such as descriptive analysis, Chi-square and one-way analysis of variance, multiple regressions; assists in preparing final graphs, presentations, reports, and manuscripts for various Evaluation Projects.
Performing quality assurance analysis to assess SDIR data reporting gaps, and developing dashboards to track daily vaccine usage at the provider level and linked demographic information at the patient level, linking influenza billing records to vaccine administration data to track vaccine lot usage for SDIR interface users. The incumbent may also periodically assist the County Epidemiology Immunization Services Branch in surveillance and quality assurance analysis projects as needed.
Six (6) years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus two (2) years of related experience/training
Demonstrated working knowledge of research function.
Working skills in statistical analysis, systems programming, database design and data security measures. Knowledge of statistics and application of basic statistical significant tests (examples: Chi-squaretests, t-tests, regress analysis).
Thorough working skills in analysis and consultation.
Strong skills to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
Proficient experience using SPSS, Access, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working with databases. Experience in assisting with quality assurance components of protocol in a database management system. Experience querying relational databases and building datasets to facilitate regular reporting.
Proven experience in the creation and presentation of reports and data in various formats to both professional and lay communities.
Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills to perform research analysis duties. Knowledge of introductory level statistics and application of basic statistically significant tests (examples: Chi-square tests, t-tests, regress analysis).
Proven ability to effectively manage time and see assigned parts of projects through to completion on deadline.
