The Dean's Office is the central administrative unit that provides leadership to Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. Cummings School provides DVM, master's, and PhD degrees. We operate 7 veterinary hospitals and clinics to support our educational programs. We have internationally recognized research programs in animal and human health, comparative biomedical research, clinical research, infectious disease, and global health. The School has approximately 115 faculty members, 400 employees, and 450 students. Cummings Continuing Education provides specialized administrative and operational support for development and production of continuing education events for the school of veterinary medicine. Cummings Continuing Education handles diverse events from wet labs and out of state meetings to evening lectures and weekend symposia.
The Continuing Education and Events Manager reports to the Dean, with additional supervision from the Director of Continuing Education. Responsible for event planning for the Dean's Office and School as well as Continuing Education programs and events. Assures appropriate implementation and maintenance of Continuing Education policies and ensures that the School meets relevant standards/policies in all Continuing Education activities, including internal and external events. Oversee projects in the Dean's office such as the School's Accreditation and annual reports.
Must have Bachelor's Degree and/or years of related experience that would equal a Bachelor Degree, with a minimum of 5 years experience, or other relevant education with a minimum of 7 years experience (no other special licenses required).
Must have at least 3 years of experience organizing and managing events.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, and interpersonal skills.
Must be able work independently, and yet be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to adhere to timelines, and efficient.
Must have excellent computer skills, including word processing (Microsoft Office), spreadsheet management, and basic office machinery skills.
Must be comfortable managing website materials and disseminating online marketing materials (specific website development skills not required, but must have sufficient computer skills to fill this role).

Previous experience in an academic environment, or a similar group environment.
Appreciation of the important of animals, veterinary medicine, animal and human health, and research.
Experience with email blasts, internet conferencing software (e.g. Teams, Zoom), webinars, excellent formatting skills.
Able to work with diverse populations.
Special Work Schedule Requirements:
Occasional weekend or evening hours for events.
