This position is for a full-time research technician to work on research on diversity and inclusion, perceptions of bias, implicit biases, prejudice and stereotyping, and social-psychological interventions.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration: Supervise undergraduate research assistants, schedule, organize, order supplies, submit applications and modifications to the university IRB, etc.
Study Materials Development: Work with the PI to conduct literature review, create study materials, and make accompanying audio and video recordings.
Testing/Data Collection: Administer studies to participants.
Coding Data: Appropriately transport, back-up, compile, and analyze data. May also code data from video.
Present ongoing project reports in regular meetings with the PI: Meet multiple times with the PI each week to discuss research progress and address any issues that arise.
Recruitment: Work with the PI to recruit samples in the St. Louis region to participate in the project. After initial recruitment, work with individual supervisors or teachers to schedule times for data collection.
Assist with writing manuscripts and preparing grant proposals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in psychology, cognitive science or a related field.
Prior research experience in a psychology research lab, though relevant coursework or research in related fields might count toward experience.
Previous experience working with undergraduate participants, families, teachers, employees, police officers, or school administrators in a psychology research lab or organization-specific setting (e.g., schools, police departments, corporate offices).
Proficiency with Photoshop and video/audio recording is desirable.
Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to get along well with graduate students, postdocs, and undergraduate students working as research assistants within the lab.
Ability to work independently and take initiative on array of projects and duties each day.
Ability to travel to off-site locations that may not be accessible by public transportation.

This position requires the ability to travel to off-campus locations (schools, police departments, for-profit and non-profit organizations throughout the St Louis region) for recruiting and testing participants.
The hiring range for this position is $13.80 - $15.97 per hour.
