The School of Criminal Justice, Rutgers University invites applications for Part-Time Lecturer (PTL) teaching positions in the undergraduate and MA program during the Fall 2021 Semester.
Successful applicants will develop and instruct undergraduate or graduate courses on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to the following: criminology, ethics, race and crime, contemporary policing, corrections, mass incarceration, research design and evaluation, and criminal justice.
Instructors shall report to the Dean of the School of Criminal Justice, prepare and submit course syllabi, meet and provide pedagogically appropriate instruction during assigned class times, provide timely student feedback, respond to student emails, and adhere to grade submission policies and deadlines. In classes that have a research focus, instructors shall follow appropriate Institutional Review Board policies and procedures to ensure the protection of human subjects.
Course appointments are on the Rutgers Newark campus or at the Rutgers off-campus site located at County College of Morris. Current plans are for courses to be 100% face-to-face instruction. There is a possibility that remote or hybrid formats could occur.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Masters or Juris Doctorate Required. Doctorate Preferred.
Demonstrated ability to teach at the university level.
Applicants with comparable degrees from accredited institutions may also be considered. Prior teaching experience is also preferred.
