The Geospatial Institute (GeoSLU) and the Department of Earth & Atmospheric Sciences at Saint Louis University is looking to fill an open rank (tenure-track assistant professor or associate professor with tenure) faculty position in Geoinformatics (Geomatics) to meet the needs of growing research and training in geospatial science. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in geomatics, geoinformatics, geospatial science, or a related area. The successful candidate must provide evidence of demonstrated excellence in research and commitment to teaching at the university level.
Research experience in space geodesy, GPS/GNNS, GPS alternatives, indoor mapping, photogrammetry, open-source GIS, position navigation and timing (PNT), and image processing, as well as experience applying computer vision to georeferencing and location science, is critical. Demonstrated experience with geospatial big data and machine learning applications to geomatics/geoinformatics are considered highly desirable. Teaching will include classroom-based and online lectures and project work. The successful candidate will also be expected to assist in mentoring and advising students to support newly established undergraduate and Ph.D. programs in Geoinformatics and Geospatial Analytics.
