ABOUTTHEPOSITION The Strategic Initiatives Coordinator acts as an internal consultant, leveraging organizational and strategic acumen to collaborate across disciplines to prepare and advance College's strategic plans, initiatives, and projects. This position provides agile and adaptive leadership, guidance, technical expertise and coordination for the high-level projects key to accomplishing critical strategic goals. Additionally, the Strategic Initiatives Coordinator oversees the continuous improvement and effectiveness of the College's project management methodology and facilitates development of initiatives, planning, and goals through campus engagement.
This position will provide critical leadership in support of the college's Equity 2025 strategic goals. Equity 2025 is at the forefront of all planning and through it Normandale Community College will eliminate the educational equity gap for students of color by 2025, achieve a completion rate of 50% or better for degree-seeking students by 2030, and support and sustain a pervasive institutional culture that is culturally competent and service oriented.
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Professional experience leading and facilitating group processes which encourage cross-function collaboration and consensus on organizational initiatives.
Demonstrated experience developing and integrating strategic initiatives, using research, data, and administrative planning.
Significant experience in project management and methodology sufficient to advise and provide leadership to multiple project teams, including the Strategic Initiatives Council and the President's Cabinet.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to work effectively with teams across disciplines and the campus community.
Problem solving, critical thinking, logical reasoning, objective interpretation, sound judgment, and the ability to conceptualize solutions.
Ability to analyze and synthesize situations and data, identify problems, and provide meaningful solutions for decision making.
Ability to manage a diverse array of concurrent activities and projects from inception through execution and evaluation.
NOTE: This position will be working at least part time from a remote environment through the 2021 calendar year, so a home internet connection is required.
MBA or other advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
Certified project manager (PMP).
Thorough knowledge and experience using strategic planning concepts, frameworks, and best practices to create clear and attainable project objectives, build project requirements, oversee cost, time and scope of projects, manage project constraints, and effectively communicate progress and end results.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft TEAMS or other project management software.
