Job Description Summary The Academic Technologist will assist faculty in all aspects of courseware development and in the selection and integration of appropriate instructional and research technologies. He/she will work primarily with faculty to determine the best use of instructional technology in a given disciplinary area, as well as: work with the Director of Academic Technologies to identify appropriate instructional technology tools by discipline area; Provide courseware development assistance to individual faculty, in both business and non-business related applications; Assist faculty in identifying, evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate instructional technologies, such as Blackboard/Kaltura; Support small-scale pilots and large-scale implementation of innovative technology used in research and teaching. Oversee day-to-day support for faculty teaching our face-to-face, hybrid, blended, and online courses.

Research, evaluate and test emerging and evolving technologies to improve or enhance faculty-student web-based communications and face-to-face/online instructional effectiveness.
Provide support for instructional technologies such as blogs, wikis, interactive polling, anti-plagiarism, videos, lecture capture.
Work with faculty using Bentley'sLMSto utilize specific tools, such as assessment and quizzing, to their fullest potential.
Develop and maintain web-based documentation and support forinstructional technology platforms.
Bachelor's Degree. Master's degree in instructional design, educational technology, or related field preferred.
3-5 years' of related experience supporting faculty in using technology to further the instructional and research mission.
Significant experience with LMS systems like Blackboard and its tools required.
Broad technical skill is required, and experience in the selection, development, and use of instructional and research technologies (hardware and software) is helpful.
Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated customer service experience and interpersonal skills.
Ability to quickly learn and teach new technologies.
Knowledge of the collaboration systems like Office 365.
Ability to use creative problem solving.
Ability to produce instructional materials based on the needs of the organization and customer.
Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage and meet deadlines
