Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Environmental Services Worker for the Institutional Planning and Operations Department. Under the direction of the Supervisor of Environmental Services, the Senior Environmental Services Worker takes a leading role in inspecting and determining work to be done and materials needed to maintain a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive environment in Rutgers Biomedical Health Services.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Performs proper cleaning to ensure cleanliness of assigned area.
Performs isolation cleaning procedures as instructed in order to prohibit the spread of infection.
Performs hard floor care and various levels of carpet care.
Renders moving services and performs functional set ups according to requests throughout the University.
Performs various grounds cleaning tasks.
Performs snow removal tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Two (2) or more years of prior experience in institutional environmental services.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Quality Control System as well as environmental controls.
Valid driver's License is recommended.
Prior supervisory experience.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Position requires lifting up to 10 pounds over 2/3 of the time, lifting or exerting force of 25 pounds up to 2/3 of the time, lifting or exerting force of 50 or more pounds under 1/3 of the time.
