80% - Coordinate and lead grant preparation and submission process from proposal development through point of award to include grant processing oversight and management; prepare budgets for grant proposals; serve as an expert resource in grant preparation components such as assembling applicable publications, current grant listings, curriculum vitae and other materials used in proposal packages; ensure all proposal submissions are complete and in compliance with agency and University guidelines and instructions; interpret specific award terms and conditions for the Pl and staff; interface with SPA and BIOGEN Grant Manager on administrative issues related to proposal submissions
20% - Serve as a resource for faculty regarding funding opportunities as well as changes in agency and University policies relevant to pre-award processes; participate in presentations and communications within the research community; maintain pre-award data and generate reports as requested by administrators and managers; manage and coordinate work schedule with other team members for agency deadlines.

Required Qualifications: BA/BS plus at least 2 years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years. Strong service orientation, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff. Strong organizational skills, including evidence of ability to multi-task. Advanced level skills in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel are essential. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to interact with people of all responsibility levels within and external to the U of MN; Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment under tight deadlines, providing support to multiple faculty members. Able to prioritize workload; Demonstrated skill in problem solving; Experience in an academic setting. Administrative/business experience in a U of MN department; Familiarity with U of MN's computerized grants administrative system (EGMS) and with external agency proposal processes, particularly NIH.
