The Graduate School has an outstanding opportunity for an Admissions and Recruitment Specialist, Master of Science in Data Science.
The Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS) program is an interdisciplinary academic program within the UW Graduate School. The MSDS program has an exciting opportunity for an Admissions and Recruitment Specialist who wants hands-on experience with a successful holistic admissions program. MSDS has reached national prominence as a high-demand STEM graduate program that has implemented scalable holistic admissions and recruitment with a large volume of applications (>1,000 per year). The process has focused on finding outstanding students from this large pool by giving candidates from all backgrounds a chance to show how they will succeed in our program and the data science field. This holistic process changed MSDS cohorts from majority-male to a much more equitable distribution of genders. Progress has also been made in increasing representation of students from historically underrepresented backgrounds based on race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, disability, and first generation status. There is substantial work remaining in building a pipeline for diverse students into the program and the data science field.
If you want a position where you can have impact and the opportunity to bring your creativity and experience to this expansion of holistic admissions and recruitment, while building on a strong foundational admissions process, this is the position for you.
