Dept Marketing Statement Enterprise Time and Attendance System (ETAS) is a complex, mission-critical campus enterprise information technology system that is responsible for ensuring accurate time and leave reporting for over 6,500 employees. The ETAS system is critical to the operation of the campus, and, as a result, must be secure, accessible, and usable. Designing, implementing, and managing campus IT systems requires working closely with business process owners as well as Enterprise Financial Systems and Information Technology Services (ITS) and Staff Human Resources (SHR). This position supports SHR's needs relating to ETAS and reports to the Compensation Manager within the SHR organization, which is comprised of human resource professionals, dedicated to building a strong and healthy university by propelling the university mission, engaging and developing people, empowering our campus partners, building trust and teamwork and providing excellent Human Resource services.
Under the direction of the Senior Business Analyst, the Business Analyst plays a role in maintaining the operations and functionality of CruzPay, UC Santa Cruz's time and attendance system. The incumbent will provide production support and general ongoing maintenance of the CruzPay system. The Business Analyst will be responsible for applying policy and procedure analysis to resolve a variety of business process problems. Incumbent will assist the Senior Business Analyst in exporting time entry data to UCPath for paycheck generation, validating information, resolving issues with UCPath to ensure good pay.
Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule Salary Information: Salary Range: $26.39 - 36.30/hourly. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Job Duties 30%: Provide technical support in identifying and evaluating UCSC's time and attendance system, CruzPay. Assist with functional work related to system upgrades and deployments, consulting with subject matter experts (SME) as appropriate. Analyze policy and contract revisions to determine if updates to the system are necessary. Assist with analysis and monitor ongoing system functionality to identify and evaluate inconsistencies or errors and make recommendations for correction or process improvement.
30%: In collaboratotion with Senior Business Analyst, participate in system configuration project planning and implementation activities including data gathering, requirements development, testing and documentation. Collaborate closely with Enterprise Financial Systems analysts. Provide support for routine system maintenance, assist end users, and troubleshoot technical issues. Coordinate system testing of newly added or reconfigured functionality. Execute unit intergration and acceptance testing according to developed plan.
20%: Gather, analyze, prepare and summarize policy issues, inconsistancies, make recommendations for approval of business process and procedural documentation. Assist with documenting changes in processes and procedures. Analyze and present recommendations to Senior Business Analyst and/or CruzPay team. Contribute to the development of procedural recommendations to ensure consistent application of policies and processes across Timekeepers. Provide support and training on new applications.
20%: Assist with the implementation of changes in development, maintenance, system standards and creation of specifications. Assist with web content and updates.
Education: Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
General knowledge of business and process analysis functions.
