The College of New Jersey Department of Music invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor in Music Education to teach String Methods for Music Education majors, starting during the week of August 31, 2021. A per semester contract is renewable. (For AY 2021-22, Fall semester runs from August 31-December 22, and the Spring semester from January 24- May 17.)
Provide course syllabus, schedule card, and mid-term and final grades in a timely manner.
Administer the final exam during the designated final exam period.
(Possibly) supervise student teachers depending upon candidate's qualification/interest and departmental needs.
Earned Master's degree in Music Education or String Performance.
A proven record of successful teaching experience in K-12 and/or in collegiate level (including as a TA).
Evidence of a strong background and experience in string pedagogy.
Familiarity with New Jersey teacher evaluation models.
The availability to teach a weekly 80-minute class on TCNJ's campus (Ewing, NJ).
Salary is commensurate to 1 Faculty Weighted Hour (w/ current rate of $1800.00.)
There will be no travel/moving cost reimbursement or working visa support attached to this position.
