Advance Clinical and Translational Research (Advance-CTR) was established in 2016 through receipt of an IDeA- CTR Award from the National Institutes of General Medical Sciences. Advance-CTR is a statewide hub supporting clinical and translational researchers in Rhode Island by providing funding, services, and professional development opportunities. We strive to fuel discoveries that improve the overall health in the state.
The Advance-CTR Project Manager is responsible for Project Management of the Pilot Project Program portfolio, the Mentored Research Award Program portfolio, and other special projects related to professional development and enhancing statewide research infrastructure. The incumbent will independently manage the application, review, and selection process for the Advance-CTR funding mechanisms. The incumbent will work closely with award recipients and the Research Administration/Sponsored Projects offices at Brown and partner institutions across the state to ensure timely and successful project activation and close-out. The incumbent will serve as the main point of contact for Advance-CTR award programs, and will maintain regular communication with Advance- CTR award recipients. The incumbent will be responsible for compiling, monitoring, and reporting award program data, and serves an integral role in the tracking and reporting of Advance-CTR awardee progress and outcomes, and in implementing strategies to ensure continuous improvement. The incumbent will also prepare content for presentation to Steering and Operation Committees, Internal and External Advisory Committees, and the National Institutes of Health. The incumbent plays a key role as a member of a centralized administrative and operations team.
Reporting to the Administrative Director, the incumbent will work closely with the Core Leads for the Award programs, along with the Data and Reporting Manager, to ensure efficient and effective project management and reporting.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 04/30/22 which may be extended based upon available funding. Â
Bachelor's degree required ( Masterâ™s degree preferred. MS, MA, M.Ed, MPH or MBA) or equivalent combination of education experience
5-7 yearsâ™ experience in research project management or administration, preferably in an academic/medical research environment.
Experience with electronic tracking and data acquisition, and interpretation and presentation of results.
Experience in project or program evaluation is preferred.
Experience with NIH systems (eRA Commons, ASSIST, SIRS) is preferred.
Knowledge of NIH and other Federal requirements and policies is preferred.
Must be a team player with a strong service oriented attitude.
Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational capabilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively in a deadline drivenÂ environment required.
Demonstrated ability and flexibility to multi-task, prioritize multiple directives, and manage diverse job responsibilities.
Possesses a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive campus community.
