This position is in the Operations and Facilities Management Department (OFMD), Mail Services.� This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Position is responsible for shipping and receiving in dock area or providing service in U.S. Mail contract office.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for unloading trucks and processing packages.
Operates forklifts, jacks and other heavy lifting equipment.
Prepares manifest for customer pickup of goods.
Tracks sales of specified products including dry ice and alcohol.
Staffs postal window, assisting customers with postage and shipping needs.
Utilizes computer-based Point of Sale system.
Sorts mail to postal boxes.
Balances cash registers daily, ensuring accuracy of transactions.
Complies with government regulations on shipping, etc. and prepares necessary forms for government reporting purposes.
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification and 2-3 years of experience in a mailroom/dock setting.
Driver’s license Missouri class “E” or Illinois class “D”.
Ability for attention to detail for delivering various items to different locations.
Basic knowledge of computer entry.
Strong customer service skills, basic clerical ability and some computer knowledge.
The hiring range for this position is $13.80 - $16.53 per hour.

Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds without assistance.
Frequent heavy lifting and prolonged standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending will be required.

Work is performed in a semi-enclosed environment subject to temperature extremes.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Mail sorting duties performed in small area.
Position requires occasional light to heavy lifting and long periods of standing and walking.
